Merchandise Planner
Plan Development
- Manage all plan phases, including top level preliminary targets and bottom up department level pre and post market
- Recommend strategies to achieve balanced plans, maximizing sales and gross margin opportunities through product mix
Reporting Analysis
Develop and communicate actionable business analysis and strategies to support achievement of plan.
- Quantify impact on business, including sales, gross margin and inventory management
- Track floor/space productivity supporting capital
- Gain merchant partnership to implement strategies
- Manage inventory content, aging and performance evaluation
- Recommend liquidation strategies, quantify markdown cost and timing
- Partner with merchants to create actionable product performance reporting at the appropriate levels
- Manage brand sales and gross margin performance negotiation backup
Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage routine processing including purchase order and price change approval; communicate variance to plan
- Maintain plan and forecast support files
Job Requirements
- 2-3 years’ merchandise planning experience
- Strong financial, analytical and communication skills are essential
- A bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university is required
