Position Summary:

The Site Merchandising Director will lead the Site Merchandising team and work to grow the Neiman Marcus online business through best-in-class execution of storytelling, customer journey, campaigns, and product updates. This person has experience in Site Merchandising who can focus relentlessly on the customer experience, thrives on making data driven decisions, and increase team efficiencies and effectiveness. This person is customer-centric; an excellent manager, motivator, and collaborator; uses data and experimentation expertly; and has a proven track record of leading and being a part of e-Commerce Site Merchandising businesses, teams, and sites.

 

Key Responsibilities: 


A successful candidate must be able to work at the strategic level (using customer behavior to generate bold and innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (optimizing campaigns with merchandising tools, analyzing traffic data and solving problems). This candidate will have a high degree of organization, while simultaneously thinking creatively. They will possess great project management and influencing skills to work across multiple teams to achieve success.

 

This role is a key role within Neiman Marcus and will drive key digital initiatives within a fast-growing business at Neiman Marcus.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • A great manager and servant leader who understands how to motivate, and how to be a positive influence in the organization.
  • Directs the activities of the Site Merchandising team and manages the team, in order to achieve KPI-driven goals.
  • In Partnership with Sr. Director, their team, and cross functional partners (where relevant), create and own the strategy and production of on-site merchandising events (e.g., Black Friday), seasonal promotions, and end-to-end marketing on site
  • Makes heavy use of data to drive decisions across the organization and can roll up his/her sleeves to pull data him/herself as needed.
  • Is an expert in creating test and learn plans to improve performance, and leads the team and cross functional partners (ex: Product Management, AB Testing, Analytics) teams to execute and measure appropriately.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience with an ability to comfortably present and connect a wide-ranging audience (ex: Senior Leadership, Peers, Cross Functional Teams) across a multitude of topics (results, roadmaps, and strategies).
  • Builds and executes plans to increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of the team, and makes tangible, measurable, and important improvements to the customer experience.
  • Is an expert in the use of personalization and targeting schemas and tools, and leads the team in creating a strategy and plan to improve customer experiences tailored to our customers and their needs.
  • Ability to get things done in a highly matrixed organization and to create strong relationships across multiple partner teams.
  • Strategic leadership on key seasonal campaigns and core brand moments, ensuring flawless execution of the team and ability to drive to revenue goals.
  • Understands deeply what makes a great customer journey and has expertise in some key areas of basic site experience (taxonomy, site search, UI/UX, SEO etc.)
  • Collaborate with UX, Product and IT teams in building requirements to enable great customer experiences. This includes needed new features in templates, navigational elements, product finding, etc.

 

Who We Are Looking For: 

  • 8+ years of business experience
  • 3+ years of people management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain and develop internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills (Excel = a must; Adobe Analytics etc.)

Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication
