Summary: The Assistant Manager, Loss Prevention is assigned to the Charlotte, NC store (on-site). This role is responsible for proactively preventing shortages caused by internal theft, external theft, fraud, and paperwork errors.  Also responsible for facilitating partnerships across functions, driving team towards goals, and leveraging team skills all while being a steward of Neiman Marcus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct loss prevention associate meetings, training, and ongoing communication with the store as needed.
  • Provide loss prevention education and awareness to associates.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of loss prevention staff. Identify and develop loss prevention associates as candidates for promotion or increased responsibility.
  • Assist in managing investigations of internal and external theft. Ensure proper procedures are followed, and that appropriate data is gathered and reviewed with appropriate parties so that suitable action is taken in each specific situation.
  • Assist in the development of inventory shortage strategies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide decision-making guidance.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with Merchandise Protection Standards.
  • Review, prepare and approve written cases for accuracy.
  • Perform audits throughout the store and ensure loss prevention equipment is operational and functioning properly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6 years of Loss Prevention Management experience required
  • Wicklander & Zulawski or Reid interviewing and interrogation certification preferred
  • Proven track record achieving business results
  • History of building, leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • "Win together" mentality
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office Product Suite, advanced proficiency preferred
  • Certain roles may require standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds
  • Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business need, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
