Alterations Coordinator
Your Role
As the Alterations Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the Alterations Manager and Supervisor with daily workroom operations. In this role you will work on-site and report to the Alterations Supervisor.
What You’ll Do
Receive gondolas and/or wardrobe boxes delivered by FEDEX and verify the contents against enclosed inbound manifest, resolve any discrepancy immediately
Breakdown and file garments by promise date
Retrieve garments from press station and inspect for accuracy, per company guidelines
Run workload reports to verify all merchandise is complete for the due date
Prepare wardrobe boxes for shipping and create FEDEX labels by locations
Manifest outbound merchandise by store/destination, load and seal gondola
Complete final garment inspection to ensure all alterations tasks are completed to Neiman Marcus’ Quality standards and file paperwork accordingly
Act as liaison to stores that Service Center supports. Be able to answer phone calls and answer questions and direct accordingly.
What You Bring
1+ years’ experience with sewing and or alterations.
Ability to communicate in English, verbally, and writing.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement.
Strong sense of work and personal ethics.
Thrives in a team environment.
Is open to constructive feedback and opportunities for growth.
Ability to influence effectively without direct authority, balancing between competing priorities while remaining flexible and creative.
Strong business acumen, operations and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to assess current practices, identify opportunities for improvement, build consensus and drive the implementation of related changes.
