The Assistant Buyer provides support for an area of business in the development of seasonal merchandise assortments and business strategies that drive strong financial results.  
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist the buyer with the development of merchandise assortments, sales, and inventory plans for assigned areas
  • Create and pull vendor reports based on business needs and market prep
  • Support buyer with market vendor appointments
  • Generate weekly sales reports and partner with buyer on recommendations for opportunities to improve performance
  • Communicate with store management regarding deliveries, special orders, etc.
  • Manage product receipts
  • Manage day-to-day operations of buying office
 
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of retail math and retail systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of the luxury retail market
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • The ideal candidate will have previous buying office experience and a passion for luxury brands
