Your Role 

This role involves, merchandising, design and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to produce creative assets, installations for the women’s store and special projects in the following categories:

  • Beauty
  • Fine Jewelry
  • Handbags & Soft Accessories
  • Shoes
  • Production

The position requires strong organizational skills and effective communication to manage merchandising, project development and resource allocation.

  • Create one of a kind, engaging, inspiring installations and presentations that support the company’s initiatives and align with the Bergdorf Goodman aesthetic.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining BG visual standards and merchandising for the assigned floors/categories.
  • Lead a team of merchandisers with elevated taste level to create and maintain a world-class luxury store.
  • Collaborate on ideas and suggestions with the Visual Director for implementation of brand partner pop up and highlights, sets and installations to support brand led initiatives and Fashion Office Trend Directives.
  • Partners with Fashion Manager on execution seasonal fashion trends on store mannequins and lifestyle tables.
  • Oversee the visual interior calendar in tandem with fellow Visual managers and provides direction to merchandising team on new brands, BG brand initiatives and in-store experiences and activations.
  • Partners with the Store Design and Project Manager as needed to ensure new shops and renovations are executed smoothly. Effectively communicates changes or information to Director and teams.
  • Requests Visual capital and expenses collectively with non-apparel VM through Visual Director.
  • Partners with cross functional teams including store team, housekeeping, and support regularly to ensure elevated presentation on all floors.
  • Maintain communication with buying line regarding adjacencies, brand partner requests, business opportunities and challenges to support the business.
  • Actively participates in weekly / biweekly merchant and store conference calls as well as in person meetings.
  • Communicate and provide direction and guidance to brand partners to ensure the overall client experience is excellent.
  • Oversee Beauty proposals with merchandiser and negotiate terms with local vendors for competitive pricing on VM initiatives.
  • Manage scheduling and quality of projects throughout planning, production, and implementation phases.
  • Evaluate and optimize VM-related opportunities ensuring cost-effective installations and addressing budget in design process
  • Track Visual expenditures to keep on budget.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs.

What you Bring 

· 5+ years of visual merchandising experience, luxury retail fashion experience preferred.

· 3+ years of management and leadership experience in merchandising, visual display, production.

· Knowledge of jewelry, handbags , shoes and beauty merchandising and display.

· Professional and flexible mentality ·

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Knowledge and understanding of current trends and cultural awareness.

· Organized, focused and passionate about fashion and luxury.

· History of leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives ·

· Strong attention to detail and elevated level of taste, Affinity for Interior décor.

· Advanced knowledge of technical design and materials in production.

· Proven ability to manage operational and administrative aspects of VM with extensive vendor management experience.

· Experience in budget management and strong business acumen.

· 3D rendering capabilities, Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch-up, or comparable software

· Experience with Vector files, Fonts and Vinyl production.

· Understanding of design drawings, capacities and spatial relations.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Slack.

· Role may require standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.

· Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
