Your Role

As Manager, UI Design you will be help drive and inform the UI design vision and execution across our website, app and sales tools as we aim to balance the ultimate expression of our world respected luxury brand and aesthetic with the optimum customer experience in and out of stores.

You will report into the Senior Director, UX/UI Design, working with the UX team and senior leaders/cross-functional team members to create elegant and intuitive UI and deliver world-class experiences that meet the exacting standards of the modern luxury consumer while growing the business and driving engagement for our website and apps. Your focus will be on creating Design systems, design elements/components, features and experiences that convert as well as motion/interactions that create surprise and delight while enhancing usability. You and the team will also create clickable prototypes for qual/quant test scenarios as we look to innovate while putting the customer as the heart of all our decision-making.

While executing hands on UI design and interaction work you will also manage the UI design process including helping to prioritize and allocate work, keeping track of and communicating feature/task/project status and team capacity, ensuring sprint based work is delivered on time and to exacting standards while also being proactive and finding ways to push the design and experience forward in new ways. You will manage your team and resources, execute design work and work well both as an individual, a leader and as part of a strong voice in the wider UX/UI Design team across the group.

You will be part of a wider UX/UI Design team across for one of the world’s most iconic luxury retailers, with an opportunity to make real impact as we look to create an inclusive, collaborative, design thinking focused culture that has ambitions to use real client data and insights to solve problems, innovate and drive customer experience and business objectives in purposeful, meaningful ways that can be measured and create impact at scale, quickly.

 

What You'll Do

  • Design elegant, data driven, customer-focused UI visuals - component designs, page elements and interactions/animations, full pages and prototypes that balance brand voice with function and clarity
  • Use design thinking to help guide content execution ensuring that it flows well, is coherent, engaging and can execute on business goals and customer needs.
  • You will work across web and app, so must be versed in the unique possibilities both bring and optimize both areas.
  • Contribute relevant, informed ideas/feedback/designs/concepts in team meetings, working sessions and via pixel perfect delivery of dev-ready designs and flows with required level of detail and documentation.
  • Consume analytics and data to understand the needs of our clients and produce end-to-end designs that deliver results.
  • Think conceptually to help communicate ideas and opportunities
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business leadership on a product vision and strategy that aligns and inspires our whole build organization.
  • Contribute to and evangelize design thinking into how we work across design, product, and engineering, and represent UI design across the company’s leadership
  • Create design systems that are clear, focused and highly useable. Partner with front end engineering to implement and ensure these are maintained and kept up to date.
  • Be our own biggest critic – be a stickler for detail, ensuring anything presented is accurate with all feedback accounted for. That anything delivered to dev address’ all needs/requirements and all experiences are QA’d to the highest level to ensure a consistently high standard
  • Iterate quickly and push to effectively increase output
  • Understand systems and flows, and prioritize design improvements to yield the maximum customer impact in the shortest amount of time
  • Recommend improvements to our Design process/organisation and systems and push to continuously improve the way we work as individuals and a collective
  • Take product, design and business goals/tasks/objectives and effectively communicate them to your team
  • Work with product/Design to prioritize the roadmap, manage work load and team resources, stay on top of projects and feature status and effectively communicate this to wider group and Senior Director, UX/UI Design.
  • Ensure the work from the team is tracked and delivered on time, meets expectations from a business and design quality pov, includes clear documentation and understanding of goals.
  • Mentor designers, encourage their progress, set them up for success and development, and effectively assess their level of success and suitability for work and the company in general.
  • Encourage a collaborative and inclusive approach to decision where good ideas can come from anywhere and those outside of the design team feel invested in the work we do.
  • Stay up-to-date on trends/features/functionalities and overall experience for customers in an out of store.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in design of digital products that have been released to market, with a proven track record of success
  • 1-2+ years leading digital design teams.
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in the study of user experience, UI design or related fields
  • Excellent organization, communication, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills to clearly communicate ideas, concepts, flows and more
  • We design and ideate in Figma and FigJam, so expertise in this software is a must, prototyping skills a bonus
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end (from brief to shipping) digital products within a cross-functional team environment with an iterative approach that leverages quantitative and qualitative measurement
  • Proactive initiative that identifies problems and acts on opportunities to improve the product offering, as well as taking instruction and working well as part of a team that delivers results quickly but with purpose.
  • Strong collaboration skills across disciplines that drive change
