Job Summary
The Styling Director will work with the Director, Art to set the standards and execute a strategy for Neiman Marcus styling across digital and print channels; elevate Neiman Marcus fashion styling; support company initiatives. This individual supervises four Fashion Editors, a Styling Coordinator and collaborates with Styling Manager and team of nine on set stylists. The overview for each area as follows:
Job Duties
Leads the connection of styling to customer strategies of elevated wardrobing and closet building
Understands the importance of connecting styling to consumer insight and cultural influence as delivered in creative strategy and campaign concepts
Builds and fosters cross functional collaboration.
Able to strategically direct the different styling directions and how they may be impacted by channel (ie: social, print, online, video, etc)
Establishes and maintains the highest level of brand-right styling across all channels by developing and distributing seasonal Styling Directives for PDP and Editorial shoots.
Executes Styling in support of key strategies – ie: key brand partner focus, cross-selling,
full price selling
Manages a team of 4 Fashion Editors, who are responsible for accessorizing each look for photography and communicating the direction to the photo art direction teams, as well as curating product selections for online and print vehicles
Manages Styling for approximately 5K annual images divided between women’s, men’s and children’s apparel and accessories as well as home goods
Collaborates with the Styling Manager and team of 9 stylists who are responsible for the on-set styling and image captures for the Product Depiction Pages
Works with Merchant partners and the Market Editors on seasonal styling trends
Partners with Merchant team to coordinate samples and Shoot Production on shoot schedules
Works directly with Brand Partners to achieve styling goals and procure samples
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience fashion photo/video shoot styling; online experience essential
Extensive fashion knowledge and luxury sensibility
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Nimble with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task within a fast paced and dynamic environment
Strong industry alliances throughout the US
Ability to travel as needed
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word & Excel a must, PowerPoint
