Project Monarch Overview

Our core operating system and supply chain needs to evolve to support the digital growth of our business. We are implementing a new Order Management System (OMS) that will replace our legacy system as well as a new Warehouse Management System (WMS). The goal of these upgrades is to reduce our technology and operational risks and to improve our customer expectations and the delivery speed of our products. Additionally, we are making capital investments in our fulfillment centers to balance capacity, improve key metrics, and modernize infrastructure. Expected Outcomes The project will be successful if the following outcomes are achieved relative to the initial scope of work approved by NMG’s Board of Directors:

  • Manage Time Horizon – achieve key milestones set forth by the timeline while appropriately reducing delays relative to successful implementation
  • Budget – be on budget for both capital and expense, seeking ways to improve, and minimize overruns through offsets or articulate tradeoffs to other outcomes
  • Functionality – deliver key functionality with agility to incorporate future investments relative to customer experience roadmap
  • Performance Startup – achieve operational standards and manage the resolution of identified issues at startup

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sr Director Supply Chain role will be primarily responsible for the coordination of our current and newly designed facilities alongside the launch of our new Warehouse Management System and facilities.  This role will be key in the launch of our new facilities and warehouse management system, aligning timelines, integrating multiple other systems with both end users and drivers of inputs from other operations teams.  In addition, this role will be responsible for the training and successful launch of the WMS as well as its ongoing integration and advancement of the supply chain.  This individual will look for opportunities to partner within NMG to develop reporting, integration with imports, transportation, and EDI while looking for opportunities to drive ESG throughout the supply chain.

 

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to embrace the servant leadership role and derive satisfaction as their team becomes progressively more proficient with the project, they will be expected to employ an appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Input in BRD and Configuration for systems and launch.
  • Responsible for UAT with input from Design Team/Operations
  • Coordination of Training for Go Live
    1. Identification of (Operations) Trainers for UAT and Train the Trainer
    2. Working with Change/Operations on the training schedule
    3. ID “exception” training opportunities
  • On-site preparation for Go-Live & needs analysis
  • Work with Change Management on corporate communications
    1. “Impact Management” for Merchants, Stores, CIMT, etc.
  • Go Live and Post Go-Live Management
    1. Onsite for Support
    2. IT Issue Identification, Escalation, and Resolution
    3. Manage system change requests
    4. Highlight gaps/wish lists
      1. Lessons learned documentation (Phase 2/3) and implementation of correction of errors from PN to ECDC.
    5. Coordinate handover to Operations
  • Big Rock projects involvement as identified including Returns, Customer Segmentation, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding on Manhattan systems, integration with other supply chain systems and its effect downstream.
  • Ability to work across internal groups to garner consensus and partnership.  A strong positive attitude that can handle multiple disruptions, roadblocks, and changing priorities and timelines.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills, able to work under deadlines in a changing environment, and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Deep financial acumen, with proven experience managing large capital projects that include labor, hardware, and software; experience managing vendor SOW contract deliverables to ensure they are met; experience in the negotiation and establishment of new software, hardware, and services contracts.   
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, a consistent track record of delivery, and an obsession with the customer experience.
  • Ability to interact with executives, managers, subject matter experts, and product owners in the matrix structure of the product management team.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the retail domain with the ability to establish/maintain high levels of stakeholder trust and confidence; prior experience leading product, item enrichment, and master data transformation efforts strongly preferred.

  • Excellent executive presence and a track record of success working closely with the C-Suite.
  • Flexible nature with a good sense of humor who looks to establish strong working relationships and enjoys being part of a team of like-minded individuals

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline is required.
