Job Summary

The Senior Tax Analyst will support the corporate tax department primarily in the following areas:  federal and state tax compliance projects, quarterly and annual tax provision, tax planning/special projects, annual report and unclaimed property tax compliance, and federal/state audit defense work.

Key Performance Elements:

  • Gather and validate information required for federal and state tax compliance and ASC740 tax accounting using tax preparation software. (ONESOURCE, Corptax, Oracle TRCS)
  • Analyze and prepare tax calculations necessary for determining the Company's income tax liability and ASC740 tax accounting including calculating book/tax differences and federal/state differences
  • Assist with financial statement reporting for the quarterly and annual tax provision results including preparation of tax entries, tax account reconciliations, and supporting workpapers
  • Prepare federal and state tax compliance items returns, extensions and estimated tax payments
  • Support audit defense efforts with federal and state auditors, including drafting responses to information requests, tax notices or other correspondence.
  • Conduct tax research and draft internal memorandums documenting analysis and conclusions
  • Provide technical research in support of tax planning and other tax projects as they arise. 
  • Forecast cash taxes quarterly or more frequently as required
  • Analyze and update tax fixed asset reconciliations
  • Prepare annual reports and assist with unclaimed property tax returns
  • Stay current with tax laws and suggest improvements to accuracy and efficiency of tax processes
  • Build relationships within the company to help maintain/gather reliable accounting information
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Three+ years previous tax experience, preferably two+ years in public accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Masters in Tax preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience with tax software such as Onesource, CorpTax or Oracle TRCS required
  • Working knowledge accounting principles, including ASC740
  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion/Essbase
  • Exposure to tax research software such as Checkpoint, CCH or Bloomberg BNA
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
