The Marketing Manager, in partnership with the Director of Brand Partnerships, will build strong brand partnership relationships, create the co-branded strategy, and assist in the selling of Neiman Marcus (NM) omni-channel holistic marketing and co-op campaigns.  This role manages all of our non-endemic partnerships – ie. brand collobarations with brands that Neiman Marcus doesn’t carry, but align from a brand equity and customer standpoint. This unique role requires someone who is truly entrepreneurial in nature, loves keeping a pulse on trends and cultural relevance opportunities, and is a true combination of strategic marketer and opportunist.

This position is responsible for sourcing new brand collaboration opportunities, conducting outreach, pitching our customer and omni-channel value, and executing unique activations from end to end. The perfect candidate for this role loves thinking outside of the box and bringing fresh ideas to our internal team members and new brand partners. This role will help Neiman Marcus stay on the cutting edge of cultural relevance. Furthermore, this role is the first touchpoint to evaluate incoming opportunities to assess if this request is a good fit from both a brand and impact lens.

This role serves as a trusted consultant to these brand partners with the right holistic brand strategy to help achieve their goals and grow their businesses at NM across multiple consumer touchpoints –including social media, digital campaigns, print, and experiential vehicles. The Marketing Manager will leverage knowledge of traditional as well as digital and social marketing strategy combined with advanced communication skills and analytical abilities to shape new and existing business opportunities. A communications or PR background is very helpful.

 The Marketing Manager will use influencing and relationship-building skills to provide internal and external client service, campaign execution, invoicing, forecasting, and campaign reporting. The Marketing Manager interacts daily with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Requires strategic capabilities. Strong sphere of influence and exceptional collaboration are critical to the role.

 

Position Responsibilities

Marketing Support: Develop a strong rapport with internal and external teams through a detailed understanding of all facets within a project, clear and concise communication (written and verbal) and overall level of professionalism. Act as resource for current information about the status of projects in progress as well as support brand strartegy to drive Neiman Marcus business.

Holistic Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Merchant partners and outside brands to create imaginative seasonal marketing programs that ladder up to NM‘s guiding principles to create synergistic and purposeful storytelling. Leverage data from various channel owners on category performance, sales, previous campaign results to create identify marketing tactics and know all marketing support for the specific marketing activation.

Brand Consultant: Manage trusted relationships with brand partners and develop a thorough understanding of their business challenges and creative solutions for a co-branded partnership.  Deliver and prioritize outstanding customer experience. Think of creative ways to improve relationships and grow NM co-op business. Improve clients' campaign performance and business growth. Develop and conduct strategic brand partnership pitches and omni-channel presentations to an executive-level audience. Negotiate agreements, language, and terms. Set and achieve quarterly sales goals.

Partner Outreach: Build a pipeline of strategic mix of luxury, adjacent brands and emerging brands; negotiate a mutually beneficial and collaborative go-to-market plan; set the partnership up for success

Campaign Execution: Assist in the management of all aspects of omni-channel co-op campaigns focusing on execution across all touchpoints, co-op calendar management, reporting and co-op support.

Budget Management: Oversee the management of vendors, and SOWs efficiently to stick to budget guidelines. Provide budget updates and monthly close numbers. Submit all invoicing and processing for NM co-op campaigns to NM Finance. 

Analytics & Reporting: In partnership with cross-functional teams, analyze data trends of NM co-op performance and measure the success of brand partnership marketing activities. Define benchmarks and implement systems for measuring success. Analyze campaign results by platform, Consumer Insights Research, and digital metrics to assess performance and generate future improvements. Incorporate this learning into future program development to continue to raise the bar for co-op marketing campaigns. Provide co-op reporting and recaps to partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 or more years of Marketing, PR, or related business experience with a proven track record of success, retail/web experience a plus

Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, plan and organize. Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

Self-starter, self-motivated and capable of building relationships across teams

Excellent organizational, analytical and influencing skills. Ability to deliver results under pressure

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent
