Manager, Corporate Communications
We are seeking a passionate and proven corporate communications manager to develop and execute high-quality, high-impact communications for Neiman Marcus Group. Working closely with the senior communications manager, the successful candidate understands our changing industry, maintains critical media relationships and can connect the dots across a matrixed organization to create compelling story lines. A strong writer and communicator who loves to roll up their sleeves, they will have experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and PR agency partners to deliver top results.
Job Description
The ideal candidate should have proven communications experience, excellent judgement and exceptional attention to detail. They should be a strong writer and storyteller that can draft compelling messaging for use in press releases, messaging documents, press presentations, bylines, blogs and FAQs.
They must be capable of working effectively in a matrixed environment, partnering closely with other members of the corporate communications team and with cross-functional partners including marketing, merchandising, people services, technology, digital, and social media to proactively engage on communications content and media opportunities.
Additional Qualifications/Experience includes the ability to:
- Build and maintain working relationships with leaders and stakeholders in order to build trust and partnership across the organization.
- Identify and bring best practices and industry standards to ensure that NMG is at the forefront of marketing and communications trends, as appropriate.
- Create and execute results-oriented, strategic communication plans.
- Develop thoughtful and interesting content for communications opportunities including press releases, messaging documents, FAQs, press presentations, social media posts and presentations.
- Manage and maintain positive relationships with top-tier U.S. media.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related discipline.
- Minimum of (6) six years communications experience with a focus on public and/or media relations; marketing experience is a plus.
- Must have strong, proven writing and editing ability.
- AP style proficient.
- Proven ability to drive results.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality work, calmly and with good judgment in an often ambiguous, dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Existing relationships with industry journalists is a plus.
- Experience working with agency partners to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging and campaigns is a plus.
