Facility Technician - Fulfillment Center - Nights

As a Maintenance Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.
Night Shift: Tuesday - Friday 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more
- Maintain a positive working relationship across all the Operations facility
- Track and store department inventory
- Move up to 50lbs with regular bending, lifting, and reaching both below the waist and above the head along with pushing and pulling wheeled dollies up to 100 pounds, during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodations
Position Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
- 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- 2+ years of experience in the repair of material-handling equipment
- Ability to work in distribution environments that may be noisy and potentially work on rooftop equipment in extreme temperatures
- 1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading
- 1+ years of knowledge of electrical and electronic principles
- Able to work with others as well as independently and be a self-starter
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
- Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information
- Background or experience in conveyor and forklift operation and repair
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards
- Project Management experience
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
- Must have the ability to reach arms above head, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, and frequently lift a maximum of 50lbs of equipment
- Ability to perform tasks wearing a mask, face shield, and composite-toed boots/shoes
- Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
- Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work including walking 6 to 12 miles per day
- Work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures (although facility is climate controlled)
- Regularly required to type on a computer or stand-up desk and for 1-2 hours per day
