The Creative Director is responsible for overseeing all creative aspects of print and digital content and communication for Bergdorf Goodman and BG.com, including photography, graphics and typography.
Responsibilities:
Manage, build and inspire team of approximately 10, to create pioneering, innovative content and ideas across all existing and emerging digital and print platforms that will have a positive business impact.
Provide day-to-day, hands-on creative direction and management for design team and execute a high volume of advertising, website, marketing, magazine, direct mail and store signage projects in a fast-paced environment.
Elevate and evolve the aesthetic of Bergdorf Goodman and BG.com while maintaining the creative standard and supporting the overall brand direction.
Develop and execute distinctive and compelling photography concepts that support the Bergdorf Goodman brand and merchandising initiatives.
Collaborate closely with the Fashion Content and Social Media team on creative direction
Recommend and hire appropriate models, photographers, team and freelance art directors
Drive vision and creative direction for on-model and still life photo shoots with team
Communicate retouching and color correction requests to internal and external production team.
Ensure consistency across all channels of communication.
Interact with merchants, marketing, copy, social media, and production teams to develop seasonal strategy and direction that is consistent with overall BG aesthetic and voice.
Possess an acute understanding of the competitive landscape.
Continuously research digital and interactive best practices, including mobile responsive and adaptive technologies.
Budget management and experience in transitioning print budgets towards digital content
Create and communicate vision for BG.com
Bachelor's Degree in Design or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.
8+ years experience in Design. Experience in luxury fashion preferred. Must possess a consumer-centric, commercial design mentality.
Portfolio containing samples of fashion, retail, editorial, advertising and digital design and photo art direction.
Must have hands-on skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML/HTML5.
Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and After Effects is a big plus.
Current knowledge and understanding of fashion, fit and styling.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication, management and leadership skills.
