Key Responsibilities:

  • Own category financial targets and KPIs including sales and margin in your given area of business,
  • Have a strong understanding of overall eCommerce business and landscape – and how your area of the business performs vs. Total NMO, as well as the competition.
  • Identify & execute levers to achieve those targets as needed, including financials, site metrics, customer-level performance, and marketing results to provide actionable insights and surface new ways to drive sales.
  • Leverage data to identify specific needs and opportunities to grow online business (breadth, depth, price points, markdown/promo, reg. price). Partner with Merchant/Planning and Drop Ship teams to achieve (ex: tailored assortments, online-only buys, exclusive categories), providing data to support opportunities or challenges.
  • Partner with marketing and promotions to achieve business goals
  • Maintain awareness of competition, trends, consumer insights and industry current events to leverage in your work and strategies.
  • Manage a business by bringing the “art” to the “science” – use your intuition and expertise fueled by data and analytics to maximize business and deliver a best in class customer experience.
  • Build a best in class customer experience and continually evolve and improve this experience in your category. Partner with internal teams across Product Management, Merchant, IS, Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Customer Care to deliver a world-class customer-centric shopping experience
  • Manage team of direct and indirect supports to execute strategies and iterate as needed, using effective communication and clear expectations.

Skills:

  • Passion for data and possess a strong analytical nature with an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations. Drives actions to support recommendations.
  • An understanding of and passion for digital retail landscape
  • Self-starter who relishes being an owner, getting involved in the details of the business and working with cross functional partners to make things happen.
  • Working knowledge in site analytics tools preferred (Google Analytics or Adobe Omniture)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Power Point) and the ability to quickly learn internal systems, processes and additional software/web-based applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to effectively build and manage relationships
  • Team player who can operate independently with minimal guidance and limited resources.
  • Creative problem solver who can consolidate and analyze data from multiple sources to deliver comprehensive, balanced & actionable analysis.
  • Proven strength in both oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior management and large groups in a professional, concise and direct manner
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ability to chase down information and bring structure to chaos
  • Confidence to manage up, secure buy-in from senior leadership, and navigate uncomfortable situations.
  • Ability to grasp the big picture but also get into the weeds.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands for resources
