Brand Public Relations Manager
The Brand Public Relations (PR) Manager for Neiman Marcus will execute strategic public relations programs that support overarching marketing, brand, and merchant driven programming. The Brand PR Manager will support the Brand PR team and will work hand-in-hand with brand experience and events, marketing, social, digital, creative, brand partnerships along with merchant divisions to continue the planning and execution of key communications activities while creating new and innovative approaches to delivering world-class communications support for Neiman Marcus Group.
The Brand PR Manager for Neiman Marcus can expect to be immersed in all aspects of the marketing, brand experience, events, and digital disciplines and regularly engage with senior executives, corporate leadership, brand partners, Neiman Marcus buyers, vendors, and international, national, and local.
The Brand PR Manager must have excellent communication skills, strong media relations, demonstrate continued creativity, and understand the importance of attending to the smallest of details. This position should be filled by a self-starter with meticulous organization, time management, and creative skills.
As Brand PR Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, such as contributing to the management of key communications and public relations programs, coordinating store-level press material approvals, drafting and reviewing brand press releases, contributing content and supporting the management of the press activities, and supporting and inducting new store the Brand Experience team with our Public Relations protocols and best practices.
Additional key priorities are listed below:
- Assists Director, Brand Experience and Events as well as the Head of Brand PR in the creation of strategic public relations priorities for the Neiman brand that positively align with business priorities and growth strategy.
- Develops seasonal public relations strategies including clear communications objectives, messaging, media targets, PR ideas and KPIs.
- Creates initiative-specific plans or strategies, draft communications (press releases, pitches, briefing documents, talking points, memos, presentations etc.), engage with external third parties (media, influencers, vendors, partners), and work with key internal partners on communications programs/initiatives.
- Ensures consistency of messaging throughout public relations and store press materials.
- Works with team on identifying earned media opportunities and story ideas.
- Partners with senior exeuctives on corporate presence at media events, speaking engagements, press interviews.
- Drafts various press materials including briefing books, corporate key messages, corporate leadership speeches, presentations, press releases, etc.
- Manages measurement agencies and reporting tools (daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports)
- Continues to build and nurture relationships with key media
- Supports Director, Brand Experience and Events as well as the Head of Brand PR with the management of budget
- Manages a Specialist
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
- BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related major
- Strong New York, Dallas and national-based press contacts and relationships
- Customer-focused and embodies the ability to build productive relationships with persons on all levels, both internally and externally
- Innovative and resourceful, with an eye to detail in order to distinguish Neiman Marcus from the competition
- AP Style proficient
- Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands, and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
- Strong PC, technology, and social media skills
- Ability to positively approach challenges and committed to problem solving
- Superb time management skills within a highly charged, fast-paced environment
- Excellent writing and grammar skills and professional phone presence
- Detailed oriented, organized, and flourishes when multi-tasking

- Ability to travel as required (5 - 10% of the time)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Mix of agency and in-housee public relations experience highly preferred
- Retail and/or fashion experience
- Knowledge of media relations monitoring and management platforms (Cision, TrendKite, BurrellesLuce, etc.)
