Brand Public Relations Copywriter
Job Summary
This individual will write press releases, briefs, executive quotes, Q&A and pitches for media outlets and agencies. The right candidate will be able to deliver elegant, engaging, focused, accurate copy for a wide variety of projects; own assignments from concept to initial draft to deployment; and contribute to consistency as well as the evolution of our brand voice. The Brand Experience Copywriter must be able to work cross-functionally across creative (including copywriters), merchant, digital, agency partners, corporate communications, and brand public relations.
Job Duties
• • Write clear, concise, engaging copy for marketing, editorial, and seasonal campaign messaging that captures the luxury voice of Neiman Marcus.
• • Self-edit and proof to ensure information is factually and grammatically correct and, most importantly, on brand.
• • Work directly with Brand PR team to determine needs to support the department.
• • Research and gather information about products, competitors, and cultural, and fashion trends.
• • Communicate with executive leadership and brands to gather information quotes and additional information for writing.
• • Develop productive, collaborative partnerships with creative teams, fellow writers, marketing teams, and merchants.
• • Attend Brand PR, merchant and other business meetings while staying up to date on trends in luxury fashion, news, pop culture, and beauty to better inform writing projects.
• • Track messaging by competitive brands.
• • Work with internal teams to ensure copy aligns within cross channel communication.
• • Partner with store Brand Experience managers and leads across the country to write pitches for local media.
Job Requirements
• Minimum three years’ experience writing editorial copy for a press office / team, website, media or other publishing outlet.
• Bachelor’s degree with major or minor in communications, journalism, English, advertising, marketing, or commensurate professional experience in those fields.
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
• Positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
• Ability to write quickly, accurately, and creatively under pressure.
• Ability to adapt to change and make last-minute revisions based on business needs and direction.
• Excellent writing and grammar skills. AP Style proficient
