JOB SUMMARY

The Web Category Manager is the online business leader for their particular product category. They are responsible for managing the daily needs of the business as well as thinking strategically about how to drive online sales long term. They are responsible for the financial success of the online business.

 

JOB DETAILS

  • Partners with Buying, Planning and Allocation team to drive online category success
  • Analyzes business and present opportunities and risks
  • Analyze click stream and online customer behavior for opportunities to increase conversion and revenue.   
  • Dictates site navigation, item placement and merchandising by leveraging data and customer insight.
  • Partners with Buying and Production teams to get merchandise accurately depicted on live site in expected time frame
  • Contributes to creating and selecting content for onsite and email marketing
  • Responsible for Editorial Tracking, ensuring the right merchandise gets efficiently editorialized.
  • Plans, prepares and executes website refreshes and patches in partnership with the Creative team
  • Monitors live site daily to check for category navigation and product accuracy
  • Provides insight on industry standard and competitive analysis for their given category
  • Partners with Director on ideas, opportunities, and recommendations for site improvements.
  • Manages one direct report

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Technical systems aptitude to learn functionality for multiple database tools.
  • Strong computer skills are a must.  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to easily communicate the state of the business as well as confidently provide a point of view on risks and opportunities
  • Individual must be pro-active and creative in finding new ways to increase business/sales results.
  • Must work well in a fast paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work well with partners across many cross functional groups.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous retail or web experience required
