Summary
The Training and Performance Specialist will support all Neiman Marcus organizations as a member of the corporate Talent Development Transformation and Change Management team.  This position will be based at Neiman Marcus – Talent Development (Dallas, TX) in our downtown Dallas headquarters.
 
Responsibilities
This position provides learning support to internal client groups, especially in support of strategic corporate initiatives.
 
Learning responsibilities include:
  • Ensures that training objectives are aligned with business strategies and are consistently executed
  • Executes training design and development (both technical and soft skills), delivery, and assessment of value added
    • Collaborates with internal clients to assess training needs and make recommendations to address priority needs
    • Identifies and communicates training opportunities, and acts as training contact for managers and associates, to answer questions and resolve issues
    • Designs eLearning, videos and mobile training content using authoring software (e.g. Adobe Captivate, Articulate Studio, Storyline)
    • Collaborates with other training team members on various projects
    • Delivers technical and soft skills training to live audiences, through webinars or through recordings or videos
  • Administers all training related activities for instructor-led, webinar and eLearning delivery formats;  Oversees usage of training rooms and upkeep of hardware
    • Evaluates training effectiveness and impact on business (e.g., Measures ROI on business impact through formalized metrics and reporting)
    • Uses LMS to load courses, communicate with participants, create and manage online communities, track and report attendance, etc.
    • May partner with vendors or external consultants to build learning solutions
    • Develops detailed project plans, implements projects and evaluates project results (project management experience)
 
Additional Talent Development responsibilities may include:
  • Provides change management services to client groups as needed to plan and support large change efforts
  • Provides Organization Development/Effectiveness support for NMG organizations and leaders
  • Teams collaboratively across the Talent Development and other HR teams in planning, designing and executing talent solutions/programs
  • Participates in development, modification and support of core HR processes and tools, such as performance management, succession planning, etc.
 
Skills
Required
  • 3-5 years facilitation and training development experience:  Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with demonstrated ability to teach a group new concepts or processes
  • Organization development and change management experience preferred
  • Instructional design experience;  Familiar with adult learning models
  • Experience creating blended learning curriculums and courses
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency as well as advanced software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, web conferencing applications, and authoring software similar to Adobe Captivate/Storyline)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hardware (e.g. PC’s, LCD projectors, printers)
  • Experience with e-Learning / learning management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work productively across NMG brands 
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
  • Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability in working with senior executives
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail;  strong quality assurance skills
  • Some travel may be required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Education, Training, HR, OD or a related field
