Your Role
Responsible for satisfying customer requests and expectations for fit. Alterations, resizing and restyling of all merchandise retailed in Neiman Marcus stores. Assist fitters in achieving their goals with professional assistance with fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel merchandise.
What You’ll Do
- Alter constructed garments to meet the standard of quality set by Neiman Marcus equal or better than original construction
- Alter garment to include the following
- Alter seams vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders.
- Rotate sleeves shorten sleeves as needed
- Shorten back, shorten collar, and square shoulders as needed or requested
- Shorten coat, re-line coat, and or remake inside or outside pockets
- Operate and maintain all sewing equipment
- Routinely self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Complete alterations assigned tasks in an efficient manner, as assigned by Supervisor/Lead
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form
- Complete tasks as assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead
What You Bring
- Vocational training in tailoring is preferred; experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, which offered exposure to a variety of garment styles and types of fabrics is ideal.
- Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Essential Physical Requirements
- May require some pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, or kneeling and lifting to 50lbs
