Senior Manager Inventory Control
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sr. Manager, Inventory Management is a key business partner to Merchandising, Sales, Merchandise Planning, and vendors to drive sales while maximizing inventory return on investment. This position is responsible for driving in stocks by partnering with vendors, Merchandise Planning, Store Operations, and Central Inventory Management Team to ensure adequate supply in both DC & Store locations. The role is responsible for the development and execution of processes and systems that are used to effectively manage inventory performance. This position will lead a team that will be accountable for the successful execution of planning and forecasting of inventory for the fulfillment network and reports directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain.
- Develop and communicate comprehensive department inventory strategies and processes in alignment with multiple channels, department plans, key inventory targets, and financial goals.
- Create and execute strategies for the implementation of replenishment and inventory to achieve key financial outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
- Oversee the partnership with merchandise planning and wholesale strategies to meet financial goals and proactively change directions when needed.
- Leverage reports and analytics to make recommendations in line with business strategy and goals.
- Review buying multiples, minimums, replenished forecasts, lead times, and vendor performance to optimize inventory performance.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels including aging inventory, non-retail merchandise, and consolidation/re-distro activities.
- Coach, hire, and retain a team of Managers and associates within each building
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
- 7+ years of proven and successful experience in Supply Chain knowledge and Inventory Management
- Deep understanding of Inventory Management principles and systems in any or all Retail, eCommerce, and Wholesale
- Deep knowledge of distribution, transportation, and supplier manufacturing principles
- Well versed in financial inventory metrics
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Superior analytical skills, with the ability to dive in and quickly understand the root cause and identify scalable solutions.
- Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.
- A high degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to drive sales and maximize inventory potential.
- A strong sense of ownership over work and results
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Expert & high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Experience with Lean Principles, Labor Management, and Manhattan WMS
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree with a focus in Business, Supply Chain or Finance
- 10+ years of operational leadership experience in the Supply Chain field
- Oversee Inventory of $500m+
- Proficient at forecasting models, budget planning
- Manhattan Active WM experience
Position requires 20-30% travel
