Job summary

 

The internal communications senior manager will lead all aspects of Neiman Marcus Group employee communications working directly with the VP, Corporate Communications.     

 

Job Description

 

  • Responsible for the strategic development and execution of Neiman Marcus Group’s internal communication plan with a focus on informing, engaging and inspiring associates across the organization.

 

  • Serve as a trusted partner and adviser to our senior executives, helping to proactively identify and solve for communication needs.

 

  • Build a robust channel strategy that complements the strategic communications plan – looking to both maximize the use of existing channels while also exploring new channels to modernize communications (written, audio, visual, video). The professional in this role will also ensure execution of that plan working with the internal communications manager.

 

  • Communication responsibilities include internal meetings, partnership with change management, email communications, intranet, and others.

 

  • The ideal candidate is an outstanding writer, quick on their feet, able to take the complex and make it simple for others to understand, and see around corners (be proactive),  

 

  • Must have executive presence.

 

  • Consistently delivers expected results within agreed upon deadlines.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of communications experience with a focus on internal and/or executive communications.
  • You have knowledge of communications best and emerging practices for engaging employees.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You have ability to and knowledge of slide creation, visual design, videos, etc.
  • Proven ability to drive results.
  • Solid leadership and organizational skills; deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
  • You respect the confidentiality of sensitive projects, perform under pressure and within ambiguity, and are able to prioritize and execute on short- and long-term initiatives.
  • You partner well with others, and you approach situations with curiosity and are receptive to feedback.
  • Ability to influence activities and results of those who are not direct reports.
  • You will have a direct report so previous people management experience is a plus.
