JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft architectural interior drawings, elevations, details and other project documents in the current release of AutoCAD, from sketch packages, hand sketches and verbal instructions, with a very high level of quality control.
- Learn and adhere to detailed Neiman Marcus CAD standards, project start up and close out CAD procedures, and other departmental processes.
- Draft complex custom millwork and metal fixture details. Willingness to learn how to build sections and details from a sketch package.
- Work with various team members to clarify scope of work, identify missing details, and collaborate on project schedules.
- Merge consultant CAD files into Neiman Marcus drawings to create complete sets of plans, elevations and details, to create comprehensive record sets of major projects such as new stores or remodels.
- Responsible for the prompt checking of shop drawings, verifying their accuracy with the bid documents and details.
- Execute various duties such as converting archive drawing file formats into CAD format, uploading project files to cloud-based servers, creating Excel spreadsheets, occasional store surveys, presentations and/or special assignments as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or technical degree in related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production of working drawings for store interior remodels. Other similar experience would be luxury tenant finish out projects requiring detailed millwork drawings.
- Must provide a portfolio of experience drafting plans, elevations and details for architectural store interiors, or similar luxury tenant finish out.
- Expert level of 2016-2019 AutoCAD. Intermediate Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, 3D Studio Max, or Revit skills a plus.
- High-level communication skills both written and verbal including group presentation skills,
- Ability to intuitively think in order to convert a sketch package into a thorough set of construction documents.
- Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects in various stages, and be self-motivated to create highly detailed documents to meet deadlines and project expectations.
- Experience designing or drafting metal and wood store displays a plus.
- Knowledge of commercial codes, hardware, construction materials and methods of installation a plus.
