Online Fashion Stylist
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Styling Manager, the Neiman Marcus Group Online Fashion Stylist is responsible for the on-model and still life styling of e-commerce photo shoots for both Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman brands. Additionally, the Stylist assists the Styling Managers with production management, and will participate in the training and development of the team. As part of our best-in-class studio visual production team, he/she will ensure that all styling is consistent with the Neiman Marcus Group style guide/s and that production/productivity targets are met. He/she will also support the Styling Managers with creative projects, workflow development and must have a knowledge and passion for fashion and styling. This role works closely with all departments in the Studio and the ideal candidate will be highly collaborative with a team mentality.
Job Responsibilities:
E-commerce Styling - 50%
- Prepare and style merchandise, interpreting brands editorially and commercially, while respecting the Neiman Marcus Group identity and style guide/s
- Research designers, brands, collections, and products in preparation for each photo-shoot
- Manage time appropriately and collaborate with the on-set production team (Digital Techs, Photographers, Assistants), Studio Managers, and Merchandise Coordinating team to achieve daily production targets
- Execute simple to high complexity styling for all brands and art direction briefs for special projects to Neiman Marcus Group quality and productivity standards
- Maintain strict standards of quality control, staying up-to-date with Neiman Marcus Group art direction and assist the Styling Managers on ad hoc projects
- Maintain reshoots at <5%
Production Management - 30%
- Support the Styling Managers in creating and enforcing styling guidelines for all categories ensuring the team is up to date
- Identify and solve for production problems as they arise, such as last-minute cancellations, outsourcing issues or ad hoc requests
Training and Development - 20%
- Provide feedback, guidance and coaching in forms of knowledge sharing workshops in order to elevate the team’s skillset and by remaining up to date with new and emerging technologies available in styling
- Advise Styling Managers of any repairs, improvements, restock or orders needed for styling equipment
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in fashion or a related field
- 2 - 5 years of experience in fashion within an e-commerce environment or studio setting
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fashion media/history and styling
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of photography; retouching is an asset
- Stamina to walk or stand for extended periods
