Copy Director
The Copy Director is instrumental in cultivating, supporting, and elevating the Neiman Marcus brand. They oversee a team of copywriters and copy managers, who are responsible for writing content for our print, digital, visual, and video marketing channels. The right candidate will be a strong and experienced manager and critical thinker, capable of ensuring their team delivers engaging, focused, accurate copy for a wide variety of projects. This person will oversee concepting for our seasonal campaigns and lead content development for print and digital channels.
Job Duties
- Generate ideas for seasonal concepts and storylines and present the work to a wide range of audience.
- Provide guidance to team on writing clear, concise, engaging copy for marketing, editorial, and promotional campaigns.
- Develop productive, collaborative partnerships with design team, fellow copy team members, art directors, marketing team, and merchants.
- Attend creative planning and strategy meetings and stay up to date on trends in fashion, news, pop culture, and beauty to better inform the team’s projects.
Job Requirements
- 7-10+ years in management and leadership experience
- Experience leading a large creative team with a proven track record for success and growth.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience crafting content for digital, social, video, and print. Luxury, retail, and agency experience preferred.
- Experience in video concepting and scripting required.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills and confidence presenting in large groups.
- Excellent time-management and editing skills with an eye for design and layout.
- Ability to synthesize information and react appropriately.
- Ability to write quickly, accurately, and creatively under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to change and make last-minute revisions based on business needs and direction.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft 365.
