OVERVIEW
Neiman Marcus is seeking a talented Senior Writer to join our fast-paced Creative Services team. The right candidate will be able to deliver engaging, focused, accurate copy for a wide variety of projects; own assignments from concept to initial draft to file release; participate and contribute to the evolution of our brand voice; and lead conceptualization for new and repeat campaigns.
Duties include:

Researching and gathering information about products, competitors, and trends.

Writing and managing content and revising and owning projects, whether it’s a one-off tagline or an in-depth category mailer.

Self-editing and proofing to ensure information is factually and grammatically correct and, most importantly, on brand.

Contributing ideas to creative planning, brainstorms, and strategy meetings.

Staying up to date on trends in luxury fashion, pop culture, and beauty to better inform writing projects.

Developing collaborative partnerships with designers, fellow writers, marketing teams, merchants/buyers, and account managers.

Spearheading marketing campaign messaging and ensuring copy is delivered consistently across channels.
Job requirements

Minimum of 4–6 years of professional writing/editing experience

Bachelor’s degree with major or minor in advertising, marketing, journalism, or English

Exceptional grammatical skills and attention to detail

Ability to turn in clean, concise copy

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude

Ability to adapt to change and willingness to make last-minute revisions with utmost accuracy

Ability to think critically and proactively solve problems, reaching out to internal stakeholders to overcome project hurdles

Ability to conduct research and summarize results into action-focused recommendations

Ability to contribute substantive ideas to brainstorms and planning meetings

Experience writing for a variety of delivery channels is desired; these include print materials, email, web copy, social media, video scripts, etc.

Previous agency experience is a plus
