Day Shift -Training Associate
Job Summary

In this position, you will actively guide the growth of individual Warehouse Associates by following hands-on training protocols in order to create an efficient and safe warehouse team. Your main goal will be to train new hires in all departments, requiring a thorough understanding of all warehouse operations. To ensure this goal is met, you will actively cross-train on the entire warehouse floor.
Your competence in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and leadership will be fully utilized as you assist in the education and cultivation of valuable members of an important supply chain. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Trainers will provide the following support for new hires within the facility:
- Trainers will spend one week with each new hire conducting on-the-job training
- Trainers will take all new hires on a tour of the facility highlight department specific work areas as well as any other key locations (designated walkways, fire exits, etc.)
- Trainers will cover any department specific safety policies and procedures
- Trainers will provide all associates with updates on policies and procedures
- Trainers will provide their Training Supervisor with feedback to ensure continual improvement in efficiency of new hire training classes
- Trainers will submit weekly observations and other training documentation to the Supervisor to verify completion status of trainees
- Trainers will complete formal observations of associates upon request and report findings to area management
- Trainers will conduct and record random knowledge checks in each department
- Trainers must communicate with business units to create awareness of training opportunities
- Trainers must support Supervisor, Manager, and/or Director on special projects or reports as needed
- Trainers must be able to adjust schedule as needed to support training needs
- Trainers must be able to cross train in all operations departments

- Provide training and constructive feedback effectively and professionally
- Occasionally present in front of small groups
- Accurately provide and follow directions, both written and verbal
- Remain professional, fair, and consistent in interacting with the NM team
- Actively support team concepts and effectively communicate with team members at all levels
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and provide safety feedback
- Remain flexible to work overtime, as scheduled
- Meet company's physical requirements of standing, bending, lifting, etc.
- Focus and remain on task in a fast-paced environment; multitask with ease
- Give attention to detail
- Adhere to NM Safety standards
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management System and MS Office (or willingness to learn) preferred
- Previous training or mentoring experience is a plus
- Ability to analyze data for trends and make recommendations for improvement
- Excellent, timely, and professional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal
Essential Physical Requirements
- Continuous/frequent walking or standing for long periods of time
- Continuous/frequent pushing or pulling heavy carts – up to 50lbs
- Lifting objects weighing up to 25lbs from the floor to over-head level
- Lifting objects weighing up to 45lbs from the floor to waist level
