Business Imperative

The Senior Director of Marketing Operations will serve as the backbone and key enabler for the Marketing and Creative team delivering planning, governance, execution, and support for core marketing and creative functions. This role builds marketing process and operations to drive efficiencies, manage asset production services, execute capacity planning and apply agile ways of working effectively at scale. This includes management of  end-to-end seasonal campaign delivery, project management and execution, go-to-market timelines, and administration. This role will be instrumental in improving the marketing performance and efficiency overall, establishing a new way of working across the marketing disciplines.

Job Responsibilities

Drive and manage the Marketing organization’s annual seasonal planning, partnering across marketing leadership and other cross functional teams to define and document key planning and execution milestones across all disciplines

Develop and lead core marketing initiative project management practices that establish formal communication that is clear and often, in a timely, organized, and user-friendly manner, providing task status, delivery schedules, open issues, risks, and solution plans to senior leadership (project manage over 2,500 projects annually)

Own overall marketing project schedules from inception to completion, including resource planning & management, issues & risk management, monitoring progress, reporting & documentation

Lead development, ongoing maintenance, and sharing out of the full marketing seasonal calendar, working across key marketing disciplines for creative brief writing, concept development, art direction, design/writing (web, video, print & social / paid media, and store signage for review, approval and delivery of assets to customer)

Lead development and rollout of agile marketing practices across the organization; drive continuous process improvement and seek ways to do things better, faster, and more efficiently

Lead all project management of all external media / channel partner initiatives a d and creative production operations

Own the relationship with Wrike and ensure optimized utilization of the tool across the marketing and creative teams, performance reporting and application evolution

Coordinate the annual development and monthly management of the marketing budget, in partnership with Marketing team leadership and own monthly reconciliation process to ensure projects are on time and on budget, including brand partner marketing

Serve as a key leader as part of a diverse strategic and creative team providing support and guidance enabling innovation, creativity and perpetual improvement

Desired Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

10+ years of relevant experience managing/leading digital marketing/advertising/creative operations teams

10+ years of direct team management experience

3+ years of experience using Wrike or related workflow tools, required

Preferred Qualifications

Solid understanding of theories of project management and experience in how to put those theories into action – agile, waterfall, Kanban, etc.

Demonstrated project management skills to manage budget and timelines as well as prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects to ensure delivery of top-quality output within established timeframes

Documented experience with and understanding of the creative process across email, digital, and mass media

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDFs, required

Experience leading teams and developing diverse teams, driving a growth and innovated mentality while maintaining clear focus on achieving measure results

Experience operating in a cross functional, matrixed organization and capable of driving results across organizational boundaries

Individual should be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly-fluid environment
