Senior Director, Content Strategist
The Neiman Marcus Group Content Strategist will develop and execute strategies that positively and consistently drive the company narrative, as well as its brands, across internal and external channels. The Content Strategist will determine which formats best communicate various types of content, identify ways to increase brand awareness, determine optimal distribution platforms, and ensure the corporate story is updated as the business evolves.
One of the more critical deliverables for this role is to define key brand messages and insights. You will do this by working with cross-functional teams to refine and articulate the company’s internal and external key messages, and ensure that content is aligned.
This role reports to the VP, ESG and Chief Communications Officer and will work closely with NMG’s executive team.
Job Description
- Developing clear and engaging content that is consistent with the company's brand image and addresses business goals, as well as investor and consumer needs.
- Ability to analyze user engagement metrics to determine whether content is well-received or not; performing content audits to assess how well existing content is performing.
- Analyzing content marketing data to identify trends and anticipate consumer needs.
- Performing content gap analyses to determine what type of content is missing and what is needed.
- Delegating tasks to writers and providing feedback.
- Creating, adjusting and managing the editorial calendar.
- Establishing style guides that specify the writing style and tone needed to create engaging content.
- Developing a solid understanding of the target audience through online and traditional market research.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Excellent communicator with strong writing, editing and presenting skills.
- Demonstrated success in media relations, and track record of relationship building with journalists.
