Position Overview:

The Manager, Internal & External Communications will support the team through the execution of strategic corporate communications and public relations initiatives for Neiman Marcus Group. The Manager, Internal & External Communications will work closely with the Sr. Manager, Corporate Communications and the executive team to deliver quality communications deliverables to key internal and external stakeholders.

 

The Manager can expect to be immersed in many aspects of the organization and regularly engage with senior executives. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills with the ability to cull down complex initiatives into easily digestible updates, and experience developing and executing strategic public relations plans. This position should be filled by a strong writer and storyteller that can draft compelling messaging for use in press materials, internal communications, and support materials including key messages and FAQs.

 

As Manager, Internal & External Communications, you will be responsible for managing multiple-faceted projects, drafting strategic employee communications for executive partners that are shared with the entire Neiman Marcus Group organization, while creating supporting external-facing communications to be shared with top-tier media contacts and key external partners. 

 

Additional priorities are listed below:

  • Partners with the various divisions within the organization including supply chain, people services and change management to ensure content messaging consistency and timely delivery.
     
  • Involvement in the strategic development and execution of internal and external communications plans with a focus on engaging and inspiring associates across the organization, and informing external partners of business updates and company vision.

 

  • Serve as a trusted partner to our senior executives, helping to proactively identify and solve for communication needs.

   

  • The ideal candidate is an outstanding writer with a clear understanding of media relations. 
     
  • Consistently delivers expected results within agreed upon deadlines.
     
  • Previous experience supporting change management initiatives is a plus.
     
  • Remote candidates will be considered.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of communications experience with a focus on strategic corporate communications and public relations initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • AP Style proficient
  • Ability to positively approach challenges and committed to problem solving
  • Superb time management skills within a highly charged, fast-paced environment
  • Detailed oriented, organized, and flourishes when multi-tasking
  • You respect the confidentiality of sensitive projects, perform under pressure and within ambiguity, and are able to prioritize and execute on short- and long-term initiatives
  • Embodies a flexible nature for change
  • Proven ability to drive results
  • Experience managing an agency is a plus
