Establish Training Excellence

  • Collaborate with SVP, Customer Excellence and other senior leaders across the business to ensure a complete understanding of mid to long-term business capability opportunities and learning objectives that deliver impactful Associate outcomes.
  • Work closely with Business and Functional leadership teams to develop training programs for NM Stores with particular focus on the role effectiveness, cross-category selling, and coaching for development.
  • Lead the design, development, and roll-out of learning content, including delivery of course to support the organization’s strategic customer and business growth goals.
  • Partner with SMEs to develop appropriate training curriculum and programs to meet strategic objectives and organizational needs.
  • Work closely with People Services to develop a strategy for onboarding employees to ensure that new hires have the tools they need to succeed putting particular emphasis on delivering the NMG customer experience.
  • Develop store-specific onboarding paths for new hires and internal transfers that integrate NMG principles with NM Stores functional needs.
  • Develop training and development plans for developing high-potential professional and leadership roles within the NMS field team, including stores.
  • Cultivate associate engagement and facilitate business success by encouraging a culture focused on learning and development.
  • Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs developed or administered through evaluation, testing, and assessment of program outcomes.
  • Facilitate and/or train on course offerings as needed, such as employee onboarding, customer focus, and high-performing teams.
  • Contribute to projects, programs, and learning initiatives as needed to support People Services and organizational leaders.
  • Provide direction, support and a collaborative team environment while preparing and deploying resources to meet objectives

 

Lead Field Training Team

  • Partners strategically with Regional Business and Functional leader to identify training needs as aligned to strategic and business objectives
  • Provide direction, support and a collaborative team environment while preparing and deploying resources to meet objectives
  • Ensures that Market Trainers are equipped with trainings that address the needs of their stores, gathering content from Support Center  
  • Provides coaching and feedback to Sr. Regional Training team on training design, development, delivery, follow-up, and general performance management
  • Leads the utilization of multiple vehicles, technologies, and approaches in the delivery and facilitation of training initiatives (e.g., traditional classroom, virtual classroom, technology-based learning, blended-learning, reinforcement coaching, train-the-trainer, etc.)
  • Evaluates and gathers feedback on training programs and provides input and recommendations to the NMG Talent Development team

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in instructional design, needs assessment, performance measurement, delivery, and evaluation
  • 4-year degree in Business, Human Resources, Learning and Development, or related field preferred
  • Proven track record achieving results across multiple businesses
  • History of building, leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives
  • Advanced business acumen and analytical skills
  • Previous experience navigating complex business problems, collaborating with leads across corporate functions, presenting at the executive level, working with corporate business partners, and leading cross-functional large-scale initiatives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • "Win together" mentality
  • Experience presenting at the executive level
  • Experience with a Learning Management System and Logistics processes
  • Proficient with MS Office Product Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Certain roles may require standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds
  • Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Travel may be required, up to 20%
