The Social Media Director, reporting to the VP of Media and Marketing Strategy, will lead the strategic development and execution of social media and influencer programs to increase brand awareness, familiarity and consideration for the NMG (Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Last Call, and Horchow) brands. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and analytical social media expert with a proven track record of achieving both branding and direct response objectives.
This position requires a strong understanding of social media trends and technologies. The ideal candidate is a hyper-creative fashion and beauty enthusiast who can strategize and guide the development of both long-term and in-the-moment campaigns from concept through implementation, working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. This role partners closely with Brand Marketing, Creative, Customer Care, Digital Marketing, and Public Relations.
Job Duties:
Oversee the planning, development, curation, and distribution of 1st and 3rd party content for NMG’s social channels including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.
Design and continuously evolve social media and influencer strategy to increase NMG (Neiman Marcus Group) brand awareness, familiarity and consideration.
Work cross-functionally ensuring social media supports and is thoughtfully integrated into all online and store campaigns.
Partner closely with Digital Marketing and Integrated Marketing Communications team to manage social media priorities.
Report on all developments in the social media landscape while being able to provide a POV on how to best incorporate them into our current strategy when relevant.
Ensure brand voice guides content and social media strategy.
Manage external relationships with social media platforms, agencies and social media management tool companies.
Develops big ideas and continuous testing culture.
Uses data to inform strategic decisions.
Lead, manage and continue to build a team of social media experts.
Desired Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience developing and executing social media and influencer marketing communication strategies and campaigns.
Experience in retail, apparel, or beauty industries required.
Solid understanding of E-commerce fundamentals required.
Ability to develop big ideas and bring them to fruition
Experience identifying meaningful, actionable insights within past successful social media campaigns.
Deep understanding of social media platforms, including their respective strengths and weaknesses (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.).
NMG social media education lead.
Ability to influence, while building internal and external relationships.
