Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager, Human Resources is responsible for the execution of HR initiatives and strategies relating to the entire life cycle of associates in our Neiman Marcus Direct division in Irving, Texas, which is among the fastest growing business segments at The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. The Assistant Manager, Human Resources is an individual contributor role with HR Generalist responsibilities.

Key Performance Elements:
• Assist with managing Employee Relations issues.
• Assisting with the management of annual performance evaluation process.
• Participate in meetings with business units to provide HR updates and changes.
• Conducting departure interviews and terminations.
• Conducting internal investigations.
• Partner with supervisors and managers to deliver corrective action.
• Responding to unemployment claims.
• Tracking leaves of absences and compliance training status and communicating to management teams.
• Maintaining job description data base.
• Updating associate records in HRIS as needed.
• High volume recruiting for eCommerce divisions.
• Conducting behavioral-based interviews.
• Conducting new hire orientation and assisting with required paperwork.
• Facilitating associate and management training.
• Coordinating corporate citizenship programs and volunteer opportunities.
• Developing communication plan for employee benefits during open enrollment.
• Participating in employee recognition programs.
• Serve as career advisor as needed.
• Ensuring the internal communication of corporate messages to all associates.
• Manage the Employee Referral Program.
• Ad hoc duties as necessary.


Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 3 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
• Proven results with high-volume recruiting.
• Understanding of major employment laws.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (emphasis on Excel) and Oracle HRIS (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills.
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
• Proficient presentation skills.

1-2 years experience in supporting fast paced, high volume call center preferred.
