The Art Assistant will support the Senior Art Director and Art Director for BG and assist with both BG’s print and digital operations—with focus on editorial pre and post shoot organization. This position supports the workflow and operations of the creative department —art, edit and production.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
•       Assisting the Senior Art Director with expenses and managing calendar.
•       Pre-shoot assistance
            —
 Organize shoot prep materials such as locations, talent, etc.
           —Assist in pulling and organizing shoot research per AD direction
—Creation of pre-production documents pre-shoot.
—Helping manage product to and from shoots
•       Post-shoot assistance
 Organizing selects made by the CD/ADs on the server
 Prepping files to layout for the ADs
—Daily maintenance of the dummy magazine book + seasonal wall per AD direction
•       Helping with illustration commissions and tracking.
•       Keeping art department supplies and area tidy and organized.
 
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
•       BA / BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or Design.
•       Previous internships or exposure to an office environment.
•       Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, as well as the ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm attitude.
•       Must be highly self-sufficient and resourceful.
•       Professional demeanor with ability to interact at all levels within the organization.
•       An in-depth knowledge of Adobe CS6 (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Keynote.
•       Ability to handle x-acto knives safely and with precision.
•       Strong grasp of typography.
•       Strong interest in and enthusiasm for Bergdorf Goodman and luxury fashion branding and product.
